# A safe space to complain about jackass humans

Am I misremembering or were horses used in battles and busy city streets for thousands of years, and bred specifically for these purposes? The solution seems to be, pick a horse with good nerves and learn to control it or else stay inside a fenced-off area.

It’s a matter of expectations. When they’re on a trail ride in the middle of a quiet forest and a biker comes quickly around a corner, things get hairy.
Most horse folks I’ve encountered are fine, especially on trails where everyone knows they’re used by all three user groups. You slow down, maybe grab a drink, and give a ‘howdy’ they return the greeting and everyone is on their way.
The most frustrating encounters are horse folk where they’re not expected, like coming up a trail in reverse of the established direction.

There was a woman on my old team who is a serial hobbyist as I call them. Wealthy people who flit from hobby to hobby. She started as a horse girl, moved to bikes, and has quit bikes and taken up knitting. She would always tell us horse poop isn’t toxic because they only eat plants. Sure lady.

unfortunately I think there’s a slightly difference between a vegan’s poop and that of a horse, considering they eat mostly grasses and are “hindgut fermenters”, and they have a rumen like cows, which i don’t entirely get, but i know it produces very different poops.

i don’t know if this is a vegan thing or just my vegan friends who happen to also be dirtbags, but it seems like vegan farts smell way worse.
can anyone attest to this?

When I eat really healthy and veg for awhile and then eat shitty food and alcohol that was always the worse because not only does your digestion get all slowed down, dehydated and fucked up but they are smelly too.
