Can we call that Shloop?

I think Austin is the only Seattlite I know that owns a romanceur.
Assuming itās his?
Yeah, itās his. There are definitely other owners, Iāve built a few, but they all went to Amazon normies.
Looks like full separationāwondering if it was a sudden oshit vs a gradual heythatsweird.
weāve had bikes like that in the stand for āweird rear shifting problemsā that no one could ever figure out. one even got testridden, only to find a perfect break like that in the chainstay. itās amazing how long people can ride something before realizing itās broken
cool

Is this worth trying to salvage? Itās a jamis aurora so nothing special and no sentimental attachment. I already have a replacement frame that I got from a friend for cheap.
Tore my rear derailer off yesterday. Still not totally sure how, but it seems like one side of the quick link had shifted. Got the derailer off but the hanger bit itās attached to is wedged into the derailer body. Imma have to cut it off or something. Just kept wanting to toss it all and put 8000 on.
iād ride that around town forever, but not any further
Drill both ends of the crack, use a long seat post and yolo
Iām lazy, Iād ride it and not worry about it until I had plans for some changes then just build up the new frame.

Yup, I had a dropout crack clean through, but the whole deal was tightly held together by the qr. The bike developed a click that slowly drove me bonkers until I found the crack. It also made the wheel look slightly out of dish in the frame. Bikes is tricksy.
Thatās what Iād do.
uh just smang some jb weld in there man
Thatās what Iād do.[/quote]
Iād prolly strip off the paint and see if itās even a crack and how long it is, then as above.
Altho in reality Iād just yolo and ride it as is. Unlikely to fail catastrophically without warning I think.
Thanks for the comments. I already have a replacement frame so I am going to swap parts over and then figure out what I want to do with the crack. Iāll probably go the drill it out and YOLO route. It is definitely cracked as there was grease that squeezed out through it.
Just saw on the Instagrams that mr jdgesusā Crust dropout did the same dance (story, no post so no link)
Nice! Yeah I think he has a couple, but generally breaks every bike because heās a giant.
His āgram is great because of that. Just a big nerd breaking bike after bike
