basically they use a small charge to shoot a fastener into concrete.

I’m not sure if they sell powder actuated tools over here, I guess they probably do. I don’t work in the construction industry. They might have gunpowder and firerarm-like casings, even .22 casings, but they sure as hell don’t have “bullets”. The first post was confusing as hell.
So what happened here is that the side of the casing blew out when you fired the thing and the shard hit your hand?
It’s just a weird thing to have happen. I’ve fired about 30,000 to 50,000 .22 rounds out of a rifle over the last 18 years or so and I’ve only had one casing blow up. The bottom just separated from the cylinder. That was some old Soviet dogshit ammo and the blowout was about 10 times louder than a normal shot.
