Supposed photos of upcoming Coros Dura 2.

Looks pretty strange to me. No dial is also a negative, I crave real buttons and controls. What say you, team of experts? Is this legit?

That’s an idea for the Dash M50 I have sitting in a bin.

@Crustradamus an iPhone 5 is roughly the same dimensions as a Karoo. The buggy GPS would probably get you some KOMs.

I never got a fast enough phone. There were a few more factors to consider 10-15 years ago: is the battery removable? Does it work on the phone bands that I need on a couple of continents? What gps satellites will it connect with? SD card storage? Probably a few more things that I am forgetting which have been a bit more standardized now. Finding an amoled screen was a priority, along with a smallish form factor (as phones were trending to maximum dimensions). Ultimately I would have had to spend hundreds on continuing the experiment and I’m not even sure the perfect candidate existed.

Having gigabytes of map layers downloaded to the phone was pretty good though, as well as being able to make routes on the device (Gaia)
