I had a Geo Tracker that I despised for a few years. Tiny, janky car and despite being tiny and janky I don’t recall it ever getting better than like 25 mpg (and that’s without even having an AC!). Looks like it had an 11 gallon tank, but I think the gas mileage was actually worse on the highway, so frequent gas stops would have definitely been a thing if I had been brave enough to actually drive it on the highway Goddamn I hated that thing. Watching their prices tick back up a few years ago when everybody was going 4x4 crazy really threw me ---

40 litres is equal to about **8.8 imperial galaxy gallons** (or **10.6 US freedom gallons** ). It could not fit a half-sized bike box in the back, you know the ones that will only fit a frame. Its also noisy and harsh as fuck. You can fit a full bike box in the back of our prious. ---

Jimnys are banned in the US for those reasons, Euros have more freedom to drive shitboxes. it was the cheapest 4x4 you could get until the dacia duster came along. cars were worse when my friends had vitaras, and samurai/jimnys, but the times were better. ---

IIRC it was pulled from the EU years ago because it can’t reach mileage targets, and there might be a Jimny EV coming back soon. Hearing the rep that it’s easier for a shitbox in the EU is surprising, cars seem far more regulated here. ---

stock image, but I did a full frame swap on one of these at work. Shockingly straightforward, took about 6hrs. I am probably totally out of date, i’ve been in America for a minute. America is pretty restrictive about imports due to reasons other people can explain better than I, something to do with chickens. ---

Crash regs are different, headlights are different, and airbags are stronger because New Hampshire doesn’t require seatbelts to be worn. The Jimny can’t pass crash regs in the U.S. and there’s not enough margin there and it’s too small and cheap for it to be worth federalizing. and the chicken tax. ---

There’s a whole group of Samurai rock crawlers that meet at the OHV in the Tillamook Forest. Though, calling them Samurais is not completely accurate. The only Suzuki part left is the body. ---
