Black 9 or 10 speed chain

Black 9 or 10 speed chain. I can’t find one for less than $60, anyone have a suggestion?

walmart, 8 bucks

You piqued my interest so I looked it up. It’s only for 10-24sp bikes, which I’m assuming means that it’s too wide for 9-10sp.

Not to mention the fact that it’s probably a piece of shit.

Just let a regular chain get really dirty.

don’t do it?

Black Lightning demands black chain.

Is there any issue running this on a 9 speed Shimano drivetrain?

won’t it be too narrow? idk, but that’s my guess.

Sheldon says running a chain made for more gears is fine, but I’m just worried about how it specifies campy. I don’t know anything about campy/shimano interchangeability.

You can run a Campagnolo chain on a shimano drivetrain just fine. IMHO the Black Lightning needs a gold chain.

I would totally agree with you, but most of the “black” components I’ve ended up using are 1/2 silver, so it’s going black/silver instead of black/gold.

Some time in the future I think I will restore it to the original group it came with, but I just want to ride it ASAP.

So for a given speed, all shimano/campy chains are fully cross compatible?

It would be sacrilege to dent the Black Lightning a black chain.
