Bottom bracket compatibilty with Record cranks

I just bought some Record cranks on ebay, and from what I’ve heard I am going to need a Campy bb to use these, Chorus or Record only. Is this true? If so, anybody have a Chorus or Record bb they want to sell/trade?

Edited into OP so nobody gets ahead of his or herslef: I should clarify that they are road cranks. I heard from one shop that they will be fine with any ISO bb, but they were referring to a set of Centaurs. Another shop told me, when I was looking into a set of Records, that I would need a Campy bb. I forget why. So will these cranks work with my UN54?

ISO taper my friend.

All NJS cranks are also ISO taper so anything like a Sugino 75 or a Hatta Swan will do… but they are track BB’s so if you are riding on the road be prepared to repack often and generously. On the other hand, if your BB is Italian thread then Campy or Miche are your only options.

I had this problem when trying to find an Italian BB for my Suntour Superbe Pro cranks… it was fucked. Ended up with a Campy BB from a very generous American.

Good luck.

i thought 75’s had a slightly different taper too. doesn’t phil woods make a 75 specific bb? that would rule those out for you.

Don’t use a UN54, that’s JIS taper. Campy cranks won’t go as deep on them as they should, get Campy or other ISO. What model year? If they’re old, you’ll need an asymmetric BB axle, but if modern, any Campy or other ISO BB should do. Sugino 75 - don’t know about that.

They are newish. '03 I think.

you might double check to make sure your cranks use the 102mm bb.

this is waht mine look like and they work with 102mm bb.
