Got 32c Paselas on the Surly, 1.5" Pasela TG’s on the Xtra, and the g/f just bought some 28c T-servs for her Bianchi. Not trying to be a shill, but I’ve liked all the tires I’ve ridden from them. They grip just fine on or off road, though I’m not bombing switchbacks at 40+mph.

Marathons are the best bang for your buck, assuming that we actually mean the bang:buck ratio and not just cheaper. If you get them, you won’t need tires for a while.

I also can’t say enough good things about Panaracer tires. The 32c Urban Max is one of the best tires I’ve ever ridden. As I’ve stated before, I rode a pair for over two thousand miles of shitty, debris covered Chicago streets without a single flat.
