CMWC XVI

Is anyone going?

http://www.cmwc2008.com

yes I am going, my friend is helping organize it so he’s told me about the hard work they are putting in…maybe its because they are canadian but there is none of that messegers only crap, they include everybody and everybody in toronto is coming out to see it. if I were a messenger it would make me feel pretty special to have something like this for me considering people crap on them all the time

I found the online photo gallery for the first time to day on their site and the store, they have new shit on the site every other day

oh i;m toltlatly getting a jersey!

i cant seem to post a picture foirm theyre site, what gives eh?

they even seem friendly in the pics of the crew

but seriouslty, if i get the jersey should i go flamboyant with the green one or cool lower key with the grey one, that is the most important decision i will make today

Go green. Where you from btw?

Hi. Thanks for the interest you take in our event.
However if you take a look at the website’s homepage, you will see that it’s an invitation to Bike messengers. And not a fixed gear afficionado event.

If you’re interested in riding your track bike on the streets of Montrel, please check out http://fixedmtl.com/ and http://skidsinthehall.com/.
These guys rock.

Thanks

They have say a nonmessenger cannot win the title, but that there will be some prizes for nonmessengers and that we can compete too. also invited many cycling groups to com to the island and have fun at cmwc and promote cycling as messengers promote messenger industry. it is still all about messengers and it is messengers that invited me. I think i will be there.

I am in toronto by way of illinois but am thinking of going to vancouver after cmwc

from website
“While most competitors are bike messengers, events are open to everyone, and many non-messengers enjoy the challenge of the competition.”

i would like to come to montreal but am staying with family to save money and cannot afford the train. i dont actually know how i will get to vancouver yet maybe a cmwc person driving home will give me a ride for money

i like th green but the grey has no black i really like no black on the jersey, unless it is all black jersey im goign to start a poll, i’ll see what one you all like the most and buy the other one to be cooler than you all

Absolutely.
My post is concerning the pre-event in Montreal and not CMWC XVI.
Apologies for the misunderstanding.
Francois.

thats okay i totally understand abot messenger only events plus i would go to this even if they didnt let me ride in it since i’m here

hella elitist canadians. har har har.

so is there a webpace of people that play bike polo in toronto? anyone?

I don’t think there is a website. Check here 100% bullshit free, I promise. http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.ph … &page=1603

Edit: from buddy Matt Rennick
Bike Polo T.O. crew and spent a few hours on the court - first at Trinity Bellwoods (park) and then over to Alexandra Park as they have the lights on until 11. For anyone interested in playing, the group meets Tuesdays at 7:30 and Sundays at 4:00.

tanks, i saw a little bit of it, it looked sort of dorky but fun, except there was one guy playing witout a mallet which seemed stupid and threw the game off for the short time i watched. some people can play pretty good thugh I’m not sure what good is.

I’m trying to come up to this for the polo. If anyone ends up needing a third for a team I’ll gladly sub in. I think at least one other person from Richmond is trying to come up.
