Dammit: Post your bike

TC: on road/cx bikes, I really dislike when the fork manufacturer puts the thru axle on the ds. I DON’T CARE. IT LOOKS WRONG. ATMO.

Tullio Campagnolo originally designed the internal-cam QR to go on the front NDS and DS on the rear

straddling a wheel and facing the bike, the lever handle fits your right hand

so then this is double wrong

wait, triple wrong cause DT RWS spinny-style QR

It’s only wrong because it’s not been lined up with the fork. They are the best™ skewers.

Love that bike.

Post can’t be empty

. Posting here rather than resurrecting the murdered out thread. For bonus tarck history points, the frame was formerly owned by blakey, this is the salsa la raza which was the subject of his early days 650b experimentation.

basket bike/craptouring bike. This is the end result of several bikes and several years worth of dithering.

You ever wonder where your life would be now if you had made better choices?

woah wait what. who dis? I can’t recall where it went post snowflake.

My 650Bx32 setup with ultralong centrepulls and the wrong fork was not a great thing to ride at all. definitely better suited to 700c and med reach brakes.

Nü Tarck
who dis?

I bought it off snowflake in late 2014 from memory. Limited foa activity so not much who dis.

Every day/every time i look at this bike. I think that my trying to make ‘better choices’ is what has led to the spencer you see before you.

And here’s what it looked like in 2010 (far out. 8 years ago?!)

That VO tallstack stem NEVER stopped creaking.

Those v v rare 28H 650B aeroheads were not strong enough, rear cracked at every eyelet. Front is still in my shed as a backup emergency wheel.

Friend made me a replacement brake pivot bolt (actually a stud with nut brazed on) that acted like the nitto rack bolts, so I could mount the light to it.

Hey. I’m back Tarck. Just moved to Vermont and have been riding more in the last month than I have in a year or so.

Just got this on Saturday. Woah. MTBing is much more fun/hard than I imagined. Thinking of going platform for a bit until I get used to it.

This used to be Frank’s, thanks Frank. It’s fun and good on gravel.

Do it. You won’t regret it, so long as you get some pedals with nice grippy pins (not molded ones, but screw in ones) and pair with the right pair of shoes…

Welcome back d-lyfe!
Yeah I started mtbing on flats because everybody said it builds skill (and I was scared of falling over clipped in). Never left flat life.

And get a dropper.

And go 1x

And wide rims

And tubeless

And 3 more mountain bikes for riding on specific trails.

It’s a great rabbit hole, you’ll love it.

Also, where in VT? I have a bunch of friends from Burlington
