Dammit: Post your bike

Lezyne seems ok but I haven’t gotten the hrm or cadence sensor to pair so who am I even

Could be a bad sensor. I’ve encountered two bunk Bluetooth HR straps this year. One Lezyne, one Bryton.

I’ve never actually used the wahoo ones though. I will say that the stages ones (m50 and l50) that aren’t the l10/first gen dash are actually really sweet and the display is better than anything else. The mapping features are really good… The only thing I don’t like is the buttons are hard to press and the mount takes a little more force to engage it then seems necessary, but it’s a metal mount and very solid. Battery life is also excellent for a color display. This means they’re kinda chunky, but you can actually do long rides with maps without having it die mid ride.

My Wahoo ELMNT BOLT has been great. Would buy again if it broke. I don’t use it with any extra sensors tho, dunno how good it is with that.

counterpoint: i hated my wahoo elmnt so much i returned it and got a garmin edge

but that’s just me.

I have the most basic Bryton and I kinda hate it.

dang sorry for making this thread into computer chat but I do certainly appreciate the opinions + input!

I mostly just want long battery life, sharp display, and the ability to follow pre-loaded routes- don’t rly need navigation or pairing with many sensors etc. Edge 530 looks good, as does bolt/roam (but roam is more for navigation I guess?).

anyways, now to dither for another month probably

Of all the brands I’ve tried, nothing approaches Wahoo for ease of use, reliability, and ease of integration with 3rd-party apps.

Next head unit I get will be a Wahoo (I currently have a Garmin Edge 520). While I don’t love having to sync everything via an app, I think Wahoo did a better job with the navigation display, and while annoying in some respects, the app makes it easier to manage settings and files without having to use crappy tiny buttons to navigate a million folders on a tiny screen.

I have limited experience with Bryton and Lezyne devices, but I do remember Lezyne being particularly annoying to deal with when I was doing support duty at RWGPS. Their app at the time (2017) was crappy, and the ecosystem seemed really finicky when it came to pairing with sensors and devices and syncing with other services (like RWGPS or Strava).

i have an edge 510 i’ll sell for real cheap if it fits your needs

Cool bits featured on these are the first T47 BB’s to exist, prototype Paul Klampers on the road jawn, and prototype White Industries boost CLD’s and M30 crank on the rowdy boy.
