Ugh, the rear tubeless has been failing on my KM for a while now, but it’s like a 10 hour deflation, so I’ve been pumping before leaving and not worrying about it. Found out this morning that it’s down to under an hour… I guess I’ll make a DIY airshot and remount it this weekend or something.

Until then, dropped my SH off of the trainer for an afternoon appointment. Forgot that I am in need of a dyno’ed 700 for the front and that I don’t know how to use the rear stay adjuster to avoid the wheel going sideways and rubbing after a few miles… perhaps these are problems I should take elsewhere, but haven’t posted a pic in some time.

We should just drop this whole court case and change the name of this place to bespokehybrids.com

Although that’s probably already a weed thing now that I think about it.

@Salt it might not be the tape failing on the KM tubeless rim, but if you fix the tape, the problem will probably go away

It is almost definitely the thin ass Thunderburt sidewalls and not having slushed the milk around enough before mounting them this last time.

Thicc orange tires wood be hot

It’s surprising what kind of a narrow use case this can be.

oh probably it’s the tire, then. i have fixed some tires by re milking them, but the scorched (adhered?) earth approach of retaping usually fixes it, or let’s you find out that you have a fucked valve or a chronically leaky tire or a mis-pinned rim or…

Yeah, I’ve been re-milking it to maintain the ~10 hour leak status for… well, I don’t own a compressor and, well, I knew this was an issue last February, but am fairly stubborn when it comes to paying someone to do something I know how to do…

I realized this morning this bike desperately needs a basket.

This is how a hybrid gets truly siiick.

Space Horses have tabbed rear dropouts, the idea being that you can slide the axle all the way forward and not have to worry about slippage or alignment. You can, of course, move the wheel back for bigg tires or a very slight geo adjustment.

My guess is the problem will resolve if you use a good strong internal cam skewer.

You’re welcome to borrow my cheap loud AF compressor for a bit if you need to as well.

have you isolated the problem? Is it in the side walls or is there a hole or is it in the valve core or the valve somehow? he pumps with air tanks work real well actually.

Maybe, initially there was quite a bit of crying, then there is/was a basically invisible pinprick that was leaking and took forever to seal. Not certain right now, just leaving it flat till I have time to deal.

@VT_regularbike thanks, may take you up on that, though I have been wanting to try one of these diy 2L solutions. Le sigh, need this quarter to finish…

Have you tried just pumping real fast to reseat? I’m 2 for 2 since moving my compressor to the garage.
