i think there’s a certain “one doesnt know what” that comes with a well done fuck-it-parts-bin-bike. my muirwoods clydesdale does it for me despite being absolutely whatever beyond its utility. just doesn’t translate to nice bikes unless there is a lot more give a fuck involved which also costs a lot

First commute with the outershell rack bag, and loving it. My 13” laptop in a sleeve nestles perfectly in the bottom, clothes on top. Mounting on a 139 is not ideal just due to the fussiness of running the straps through the basket, but even still it’s not super annoying.

I have been told to post bike on tarck – a bike so dumb only the deepest recesses of my mind could think it up. A lot of futzing left to go (new bar tape, wear off enough of the brake track ano to get it to stop squeaking, find a new straddle cable yoke for the front, maybe see if I can drop my water bottle mounts some) but did a test fit on the bags and things seem ok!

the bike when I got it had Mach SSs on it, so these felt like a nice callback, though next time I’m ordering I’ll probably do thunder burts or gravel kings. I actually have some black 26x2.3 DTHs around on some old ukai 26x1.5 rims that I might try on here, too. Same OD as 650x48.

i have the lightweight audax as well and as a former nelson longflap owner and hater, i fully endorse the audax bag
price seems to have gone up a hair but i got it from https://www.perennialcycle.com/
I have the regular canvas audax bag, and I don’t really enjoy how it opens out the rear when it’s attached to the seatpost. I’ve lost things regularly out of the side pockets too since they are basically horizontal. Is the lightweight one better in that regard?
