That rack is a real head scratcher.
There’s got to be a better way.

What’s the 27.2 external dropper to get? KS? PNW?

I’ve had good luck with KS. The one on my single speed is 125mm travel and has zero keyway slop. It’s been great. It’s a bit better than the 27.2 TransX on my old Ritchey. They both work fine, but the KS feels a bit more “quality” so long as we’re not focused on the plastic hbar lever, which is also fine. It’s just not purple ano.

On the cargo bike seatpost options, who’s doing good quality custom seatposts these days? I need something long and strong for my lonhjohn. The current post is a little too short, and I’ve had no luck finding a stock 30.9 that’s actually 450mm of tube, not to top of clamp head (have bought a couple that misreprented themselves, which is sad; I expect more from storied brands like Aimulcagn and Sretepbor).

When I explored this a few months ago, I found out droppers probably wouldn’t work because there’s limited space in the frame for the dropper to drop. This was not a brilliantly designed part of this bike.

i like my pnw ranier 27.2. it’s internal so i had to drill baby drill and i’m okay with that

I bet Swood for Vat Fot could fab you up a bespoke steel thing.

Has anyone used one of them crotch release posts? They seem unusable for actual mountain biking but might be just the ticket for stoplights on a cargo bike. Cheaper too!

if the goal is making it easier to navigate the world with a bunch of heavy crap on your bike, taking your hand off seems counterproductive. good for a shared bike tho

Yeah I have this and used it for the cargo bike purpose.

I didn’t want another lever shitting up my narrow fixie bars and pubes had it for sale so it was an easy purchase.

It’s fine I guess

This. My shitty KS e-10 is starting to shit the bed and I have to grab it at the saddle to get the last 10mm I have to pull up the saddle. It’s not the end of the world, but compared to just using a remote it totally sucks.

I have this on the Bullitt and it’s still a little awkward even for stoplights, I never bother with it.

It’s primarily for adjusting to different rider heights.

Okee dokee, I bought a KS with a remote. Thanks for the input everyone!

I use the KS one with the crotch lever on our Bullitt and it’s ok enough for me, but I also don’t know any better/haven’t used any other droppers.

I had a crotch lever dropper on an mtb. It was fun in a stupid a way but wouldn’t be fun on harder trails.

it’s an easier hite rite

judging you all…
