Onyx is so bmx that I don’t think they knew what Dura Ace was
I liked the antifreeze green; it was a pop of color!
The connectorless dropouts come from Compass/Renny Airs with eyelets; I don’t care for fenders and I live in Georgia.

Pretty sure it rains in Georgia.
Yes but in Georgia tire spray is like a gentle wash of warm water from a bidet rather than a blast of icy cold particulate-laden paint stripper such as you get in Chicago, particularly in the spring.
When we first moved to Georgia my dad used to say something like:
It only rains twice a week in Georgia - once for three days and then again for four days
Don’t forget the hypercorrosive salt residue that hangs around until July!
I remember you posted the draft geo for this - did you post any more details? I’m interested in the tubing specs and geometry you finally settled on. It’s a very nice looking bike.
As the only other person who (besides EJ) who has been in GA for a significant amount of my riding career, I can say that fenders aren’t really a thing. If it rains, it rains for 20 minutes and it rains so hard that you don’t care if you have fenders or not. Afterwards it will dry up in an hour or so (if not less).
Convincing people in GA to put fenders on their bike was a distinctly difficult proposition (based on 4 years of shoplyfe).
I like it too- is it translucent ano or something else?
Sooooo gooooood
I’ve been in Georgia a while too, fenders still aren’t a thing but outside of summer thunderstorms it doesn’t rain like that anymore. Used to be one could sit under a bridge for 20 minutes and wait out the rain, now it’s hours of lighter rain for days on end. And yet, few want to hear how awesome I think VO fenders are?
Figured I should take a couple photos before I get this new MimeBike urban whip filthy.
Not quite finished yet, still need to paint the chain case yellow, Orc Rack will replace the Rawland Porteur, R-clips to move the dynamo wire behind the fork leg, black coroplast panel on the bottom of the basket to look like the solar panel on most LimeBikes (will also obscure the dynamo lamp from above!), green stickers to cover up the Velo Orange logo on frame (sorry Igor!), polish logo on stem or replace with logo-less stem from Recycled Cycles, might add this ugly cup holder for lulz, I also have a cheap yellow/green bungee net shipping from China.
Current parts list:
Careful, someone will throw it in the ship canal.
3D print a fake frame lock that’s actually a weed stash?
It looks vaguely similar to a lime bike but not very close at all.
Debbie downer over here
This is just version 1.0 which was trying to balance low cost with similar Lime look but all the qualities of my Elephant NFE that I can’t live without (hydro discs & tubless 47mm tires).
Might eventually swap in a different mixte frame with steep heatube & high rake fork that’s painted to more closely match the real thing. Also would be fun to build up rims that are painted green & have a dropper post.
I didn’t want to go completely overboard on the first revision and end up spending as much on this as my Elephant.
No one will confuse that for a Lime bike, but it’s still awesome.
Bike looks awesome except for the shifter placement.
That bike would still be awesome even if Limebikes didn’t exist.
