My wife would kill me if I did that right now
Though if I spent twice that on everything I needed to almost get the rv rolling then she wouldn’t notice

sounds like you know what to do

It’s only uneven if you wheelie downhill
no i think it’s just built like that
Yes. More importantly not trash. I’m two for two on XPLR droppers developing fire aft play and noise after a very short time.
The frame actually shipped with a shim for 27.2 and I wrongfully assumed because of a non-standard diameter. Turns out it’s 30.9 without the shim. Whoops.
The addition of 100mm of travel is a nice value add.
Bar swap step 1 complete. Felt awesome and my kickstand is also good.
While swapping bars, I had a left thumbs mount I thought I could use since I like them flipped but the hole was on the wrong side. Against to clock reverted back to the bar end, but the worm bars are thick innard, I needed to shave down bolt and wedges just enough to also have to hammer it in last the keychain ring thing and have it still stick out a pip.
Always loved that color
Did a little bit of work on my old French bike today. Put an English TA copy (Lambert) crank on and it looks more cohesive now compared to the 80s Sugino that was on there before.
Rode it around the neighborhood and I’m not sure if I still like it or still want it. Thought about donating it to a co-op but I’m not sure about subjecting them to something so French.
At least it’s a neat collection of parts and it’s pretty.
What hamdlebars
Reminds me of my old silver/black Grand Record.
Porteurs from @igor
I think this bike needs something like a Postino bar. Feels cramped with the narrow swept back porteurs.
Those bars always felt like that to me even on a 130
I want the same hand position but ~10cm wider
So I got the nitto??? With slight rise
I’m very limited with stem options on this which sucks. Slightly undersized 22.2mm quills will go in the steer tube but the longest one I have that fits is a 100.
Ah
Coz French?
yes french was nominally 22.0mm
but actual dimensions of forgings were all over the place
the forged stem aluminum is usually pretty soft, so should be able to take the minimal material off with sandpaper to get a clearance fit
takes about 10 minutes with some 400 grit, just make sure not to get overzealous, and don’t let a taper form up towards the top of the insertion area
Fast bike’s natural setting is where things go fast.
