I’ve seen Nash type those very words on at least one previous occasion.
I’m making a conscious effort to get rid of the stuff I know I’ll never use. Down to mostly random stuff, but the fenders will probably go to the local bike coop. Would love to find a home for the weird-ass Jones wheels (135/135), but that’s probably wishful thinking.
I wish you agility in the mountains.
You on the Zephyr?
Awesome. We had so much fun on that train.
That face!
“This is demeaning to both of us.”
That’s just Clemmy’s rbf. This is how she really feels about the situation:
This dog loves riding a bike! Even in a too-small basket!
Love the giant pink kickstand!
Ride report for the hauladay is that it rules. feels a little twitchy compared to the bullitt but not in a bad way, just took a few minutes to get used to. It somehow has a wider turn radius than the bullitt which is just outrageously nimble for a cargo bike with a six foot wheelbase. Frame feels surprisingly stiff even with a wiggly 45 pounder on the deck. COG and stability with a human passenger are better than I expected based on riding the madsen which is the tippiest, highest COG cargo bike I’ve ever ridden even compared to an old school xtracycle with dual 26" wheels.
I’m really stoked on this bike and can’t wait to get some more time on it. I didn’t ride it today because the clam had to go to doggy daycare and I didn’t have the stuff in my hoard to attach my giant wald basket last night. When I get that thing on there she’ll be sitting pretty in her queenly palanquin.
Edit: looks and feels way less weird with the 157 in a proper orientation!
Edit edit: Jury’s in folks! Clemmy fits in the 157 with room to spare and rode around the block happy as can be.
Cut it where you want it.
Huh that is kinda weird, there’s no real theoretical reason the BF shouldn’t be able to do a tight turn. Having your body closer to the front wheel means you sort of travel through the turn for more distance you’re just closer to the edge of the circle. It must feel quite different than the Bullit, where you can see the whole ship turn in front of you while your butt stays closer to the pivot point.
Maybe? I’ve only putzed around on either sort of bike and don’t have nearly your experience on them, but considering the Bullit’s linkage steering I would have thought it was more limited.
I’m probably just more accustomed to the handling of the bullitt. I commuted on the BF for the first time today and I think I just need some more time on the thing to get fully used to the handling. The stationary basket blocking my view of the front wheel is something I’ll have to get used to. It’s very easy to aim the front wheel of the bullett wherever you want it to go.
looks normal length to me
Yeah, that bike doesn’t look very long to me!
rusty knows about long bikes, pears
