even then it can be tough. expensive bikes have been hard for me to sell for money i want locally and ebay is such a gamble. might be easier with facebook classifieds but i won’t get facebook again just to sell a bike each year ---

It looks like a x1 frame? If they do go x1 would they need clutch? ---

I would do a 34t or so ring + 11–42t (Shimano CS-HG500) You don’t need a clutch. You could tune the Deore 9s dangler spring tension, but I wouldn’t bother initially. ---

Cool, yeah would it be weird if they ran a 5700 left shake without a front pusher? Or would it be weirder if they had a Apex 1 left shake with a 5700 right shake? -ah crap now they wanna put Jones bears on the frame 😑 ---

From an ergonomic standpoint I would say match the levers atmo. ---

i ran 2 9 speed toagra levers on a 1x with 32x11-34 for a long time and it was fine. just like how you don’t usually accidentally shift while braking, you don’t really accidentally shift a lever with no mech attached. at least with 5700 there isn’t a visible unused port for cable housing i used a bash guard on the outside, a custom bent inside of a busted pusher (or “ultra-inactive single sided front in-derailleur”, as my friend called it when he left fake feature stickers all over my bike) and dropped the chain maybe twice tops through a ton of really dumb shit ---
