Did you just ShartQ?

@Dr_Jart_Attack_PhD it seems that you may have been correct!

I went out to try 15nm with my torque wrench and apparently I beefed it on there tighter than that with my multitool on the side of the trail lol

Awesome! When I had this problem it was really weird, I think it had all been working fine for months and then I was biking home one night and it was instant LIGHTS OUT when I touched the brakes. Kinda scary but when it happened again I was luckily able to identify the problem pretty quickly…

I was having a similar issue with my dynamo, it would flicker on and off unless I was standing to pedal. it drove me crazy. I relaced a different hub on there and it didn’t change anything. I guess the flex of the frame was causing something to short

I am getting a bit of flicker on the edges of my light, but it seems to do the center beam just fine. It is almost 8.5 years old now, I think. Will probably be sol if I need a new hub with the 100x15 on the first gen hunter gatherer bike.

And fuck meta for making search on instagram useless with their ai. I used to be able to search for huntergathererbike and find old photos i took and other Endpoints.

Instagram’s search is the worst of any social platform. Removed all sort options, hashtag searches are a jumbled mess, can’t follow hashtag searches any more… just really the worst possible user experience decisions.

Yeah, the Instagram search absolutely sucks now. Considering that the whole platform is advertising now, I guess they only want you to find stuff that has paid to be found.

I have an old instagram account that I check maybe once a quarter and it is shocking how much of the content is ads or suggested posts, I had to scroll through multiple pages of crap to see something from someone that I actually follow.

Crank up the money dial and extract as many dollars from those eyeballs while you can I guess.

Enshittification. I dont think I knew it had a search… UX is the arse-est.

Oh yeah… I did. Just not your own content.

When it really dawned on me was when spec released the second gen Status bike. They relied solely on viral marketing for the first one via hashtags. They tried it for v2 and of course the enshitification was already there. I just kinda forgot about it. We also did hashtags for our pets but most of that is useless now. fuckfaces.

Yep. Just tested my pbrrr tag. Zero

I just checked my work IG. I see they are not using hashtags anymore. When did this level of shite become a thing?

A while back. You can still technically search on hashtags but it does sweet fuck all.

I swear it did this both times I searched, even after clicking on tags.

But second time at least got me more endpoint bikes. Just takes a bit more persistence, I guess.

Are Shimano XT’s 4 pots still super leaky? Starting to hunt for a brake upgrade on my Chisel FS and Shimano is really all I’ve known for many years.

it depends on who you ask.
i’ve had like 4 sets and never had any leaking issues.

The MT520 are also perfectly cromulent. They use the same pads as the Saint calipers, and at least one TRP caliper.

I like that long curvy lever though

oh so that’s why searching for #thatssorichardsachs doesn’t turn up many posts

edit: ok e-richie is using it now

and another capstone has entered the chat, get yourself a sachs box.

Im having trouble removing this shift cable from a 10spd Tiagra brifter. Looks Like I didn’t shift up all the way before removing. Cable head is still buried inside, but the main lever is locked (on the cable head?) and the little lever isn’t actuating anything. Any tips that don’t involve full disassembly? I’ve jiggled the cable, worked the levers and fussed with a dental pick
