Did you just ShartQ?

you i’d tighten the valve core and also crank down the valve nut

Sick. Low effort interventions. Will report back.

Sealant will get under the tape and start ungluing it eventually.

Tightening the valve nut can lead to blowing the seal out/tearing it off (depending on valve stem seal construction).

Sometimes the tire gods just make you retape the damn thing.

Pull the valve core and see if it’s gunkd up with sealant. Clean it and put oil on it so it opens and closes smooth.

My fairly new rear tire with cush core was leaking with no obvious holes and i could hear my valve leak a bit when opening it to add air. I swapped it out yesterday and it’s held ever since. Was def a gunked up valve core in my case.

drill 1x1 chainstays for rivnut rackmounts?

Why is the local bartape selection so poor and why is it all $40-50? I’ve been riding flat bars for a while and looking to get the drop bar back up and running, what tape are we enjoying?

I think it’s a world wide thing. Maybe they all stuck in the strait of Hermuz

K-shaped economy. Either you can only afford the $10 cork stuff, or you want something nicer and swallow the additional $40 for it because it’s nice and you deserve to treat yourself

Bar tape should cost no more than $30 for the blingiest brands

I’m always Arundel Gecko Grip

but did the Zipp Service Course stuff last go around and it was good

You can buy all the same tapes and much better online on-sale for 5-10$ as long as you hoard it in advance and don’t need to pairwise match the tape to the bike this week for a specifically planned build

Similarly the fanciest helmets / gloves / shoes are always available for pennies on the dollar just as long as you already have these things in inventory and don’t actually need them right now

Uncle Jeff’s “your margin is my opportunity” always had an inverse going back to more foundational retail capitalism of “your desperation is my margin”

Didn’t we have like a what’s it worth thread? Wife is debating selling her acoustic xtracycle. Has dynamo lights and rolling jackass kick stand. Other than that it’s pretty much stock. I’ve put 0 work into it, probably due for almost a whole new drivetrain as we got it used then my wife rode it a ton for like 5 years. What should we list it for? I don’t want to give it away but I don’t want to be sitting on it forever either.

not finding a lot of comparables. I’d say $500 to move it as is (there’s someone’s project on Craigslist for $500), $800 is top dollar, and $1000 with complete refurb to the right buyer.

I sometimes miss my 30D but then I ride up my street and I’m grateful for the e-assist.

Stripped the extraction bolt on my 8yo Sram nx cranks changing a BB today. Do I…. Try to get the bolt out? Go to recycled cycles and try to find a 170mm nx left side crank arm (like 80% chance yes) or do I just order a new crankset and dub BB so I can ride on Friday?

Anyone here have or hefted a Tumbleweed Sunliner? A bit curious about them, but wary after a brief ownership of a Prospector that was just too overbuilt for my uses. Been on a kick of wanting an ATB, and it’s currently piquing my interest.

Anyone have the sad grant pic they could share?
