I’ve never watched this guy before. I made it 1 minute. Regardless of how high the eventual quality ended up being, I don’t know how you can watch this and be like ‘Yeah I’ll give this guy $200 for a part.’

The entire point of his schtick is that the bike industry is failing to apply common engineering principles to their work. He’s right, and what’s more, he put some effort behind correcting that fact and has produced something that took simple engineering principles to create and yet, nobody had.
The gamble being, what if he was all schtick, but I can assure you that’s not the case.
But his schtick is so offputting that I couldn’t even get to what his actual point might be. I guess that’s youtube tho?
He’s definitely 50% actual smart dude and 50% jackass edgelord. His bit on why 1x is dumb is really good. But I don’t think it’s up anymore.
Hard to look past the bullshit to get to the actual content without rage quitting.

Maybe? I’d rather he did the same content and just behaved like a sincere smart dude. Some of his instructional stuff is entirely inoffensive. The bb30 install for example, which I followed along as I did mine.
Even with the schtick, he’s got 65k subs, I can’t imagine that’s worth much revenue.
One thing I did find hilarious was the crank spin footage from the OPEN dream build. It stopped in a way that seems obviously the result of misalignment rather than seal drag.
