Yeah he’s a Shimmy rep. Not a bad guy, and I don’t think those parts fell off a truck, they’re legit. He’s always at bike swap with a bunch of demo/cheap-but-recent-era shit. IIRC as reps they have to buy the latest-and-greatest (at steep discount, but using their own money) every year. So they end up with lots of stuff to sell, and they need to sell it to get some money back and keep their house from fillin gup with bike shit.
Probably some warranty-but-still-ok parts floating around too. I bet those brifters are shot/warrantied in some way that only makes them useful as brake levers. Wouldn’t surprise me if those cranks can’t fit any other rings because of stripped threads or something.
I don’t like the “bro” tone of the ad either, but it beats ALL CAPS.
