I always thought that Sardine and Herring are two different fish, but wikipedia explains:
Canned “sardines” (or pilchards) seen in supermarkets may actually be sprats or round herrings.
Sardines, or pilchards, are a group of several types of small, oily fish related to herrings, family Clupeidae. Sardines were named after the Mediterranean island of Sardinia, where they were once in abundance.[2]
The terms sardine and pilchard are not precise, and the usual meanings vary by region; for instance, to many people a sardine is a young European pilchard. A generalisation is that if the fish is under 4 inches (10 cm) long it is classed as a sardine, and if larger than 4″ it is classed as a pilchard.
different countries have different standards as to what they can sell as sardines, the us is probably the most slack allowing just about anything under 4 inches with edible bones to be sold as sardines, which is why sometimes you open a can and you have 12 fish and other times it’s one fish chopped in half, and always with different markings… that’s where things get fishy.
we sell fresh naturally scaleless sardines from greece that are awesome, sweet and smelly as fuck. portugal supposedly has the highest standards of all european countries allowing only fish that fall under the sardina pilchardus species variety to be sold as sardines. i really would recommend portuguese over anything else.
also, if you want some oily fish get some bluefish.

I love love love McDonald’s! I have it once a month for the late nights, is that a bad thing? :-S
I think burger meat is inexpensive as they buy in bulk and when they gut the cows in the slaughterhouse, some of the feces gets processed and lo and behold gets into the meat. The meat is washed and burgers are cooked to a point where all the nasty bacteria that makes you really ill dies. Is that the process or am I missing something here?!
Most of the time, to me… the Filet-o-Fish tastes better than their cheeseburger. Sometimes when i want to change it up, I’ll get a cheese and split the fries with the friends. Only Tarckbear know’s what’s in that fish burger… if it IS even fish!
PROTIP: You should grab something at McDonald’s tomorrow! Mmmmmmm!
