Also, anyone got an answer on this one?
I think the red light is a battery indicator. Does the standlight still work as well as the USB charging?
Standstill light works, but I haven’t check the USB charging. Guess I’ll test that, next.

Led on the remote or main body?
I contacted Bike24 about my leaky Luxos. It took about three days for them to get back to me. I included a picture of the water that was in the remote as that seemed like a reasonable way to hurry the warranty along.
Here was the response
I had contact to the manufacture direct. The problem that you have water inside the remote control is not possible because the remote is welded. Because of this kind of building it is a guaranted water resistance.
With the opening of the remote the manufacture guarantee is deleted.
Sounded like bullshit to me. I wrote back that I was going to take it up with Busch & Müller.
I contacted them and they got back to me within the hour with this response.
The button basically pops off by squeezing the sides. I’ll entertain offers if anyone want this light as project or for spare parts.
The best part is that I’ve already ordered a different Busch & Müller light from Bike24. To Bike24’s credit, the did offer a 10% discount on another light.
First ride with my new Lumotec IQ Premium tonight. Quite impressed with the beam pattern and output even after it started raining.

No flockin way
The light I sent back also had water in the switch. Bull floofin shet it was “welded”
You, keep the light. Let it dry out and try it again
If you want to warranty something do not under any circumstances take it apart.

On the remote.
I think I figure it out, though. My USB charging plug ripped out. Now I’ll need to see about warrantying my Luxos U.
Mods, please change the title of thread to “Luxos U Warranty Chat”.
Lesson learned on this one, though ‘take apart’ in this case was popping off a button with hand pressure. No fasteners were removed in the production of this grouch. I’m pretty meh on B&M seeing evidence of their defective light design and not trying to remedy it.
This is the third revision of the light and it still has water ingress problems.

Yeah, I’m going put Sugru around the remote and keep using it.
I have another idea - there’s a 3m product called “weatherstrip and gasket adhesive”
It’s really sticky and it’s made for semi-exterior of cars. You can find it at car parts store for like $8

You sent them a photo of it with the piece popped off or otherwise let them know though, right?
Yeah. I sent them a link to a photo and embedded it in the email.
I feel like electrical switches that work in the rain is a solved problem. But this is the bike industry…
So, not in any hurry to upgrade my cyo premium right now

Agreed on both counts. Fuck BUMM for trying to wiggle out of a reasonable warranty claim with that silly excuse. The switch is clearly not as waterproof as it needs to be. I’m not gonna try it on my own but your story that the rubber comes off easily w/o damage sounds believable to me.
In any case if it’s not been very long it’ll probably dry out and work fine.
Re: the red light, that’s the “full charge” indicator for the built-in battery. Supposedly USB charging only works when it’s on (the charging needs the buffer). Perhaps your built-in battery is deteriorating and it can’t take full charge anymore? That might mean that you have lost or will soon lose USB charging. Possibly high beam as well. Or those will only work at higher speeds when the dynamo produces enough current/voltage/magic pixies to keep them going without relying on the buffer battery. Keep the hivemind posted.
Ordering a hub, taillight, etc today. Anyone know if any of the Europe shops are having a sale or should bike24 be fine?
Lulzy title change.
