Need Help Identifying Crank-arm.

I second that it’s fun.

Creating shiny things is really satisfying.

that black is probably painted on by previous owner

Yeah, it totally is - But legit Sugino Mighty cranks actually have those parts cut out.

Polish is for pussies. I like my metal flat n’ raw.

You’d like the chainring I’ve been experimenting with.

It was anodized, or powder coated black… Not sure what. I soaked in oven cleaner for an hour, scraped off most of the black, and then soaked it again.

I left it for too long the second time, and it turned black again! Really weird. But I wet sanded the black off and it turned out kinda cool.

It was Lemon-Scent cleaner.

Sneaky fumes.

untrue, i think grand mighty’s do

Confusing.

Every picture I see of Mighty and Super Mighty, they both have cutouts.

Maybe these are just knockoffs? Haha.

The weather is pretty nice today, so I might go back and dig around for the other arm.

Oh wait.

They might just be BMX cranks.

i have the same crankset on my dad’s old nishiki, and the chainrings say ‘Mighty Competition.’ And they are 165mm, which is awesome.

I will die before I part with them

ps. outbreak is awesome. i still havent seen them yet

165? Sweet! I wish this was arm was a bit shorter…

Also, dudes voice rules.

those are 144bcd, so different than in original post.

Yeah, aside from the deleterious effects on my health, I think it’s awesome!

nope. mighty comps are also 144

sugino: some are 144 and some are 151. and its hard to tell the difference. so what. I attached some 151bcd track super mightys. side note, the 44t ring is pretty popular with them apparently.

grand mightys with cutouts? wat.

not true

also if they say 171 odds are they are old 144 bmx cranks. painting them black was a fad then.

I guess mine are fake then.
151BCD/168mm/BIA stamped

So what is the difference between all the different types? Which oens have cut-outs, and which ones don’t?
