I’ve known a couple pedicabbies in Houston. Normal nights were decent money, but baseball and football nights were great money. Especially when the Astros were doing great. He just said you had to always have reserves, cause crappy weeks happened.
damn, i wonder why the money is so much better here? friends that do it here say that if you treat it as a 40hr a week job, on average in the winter about $600 and during the summer atleast $850 a week.

but exploring my options
first pedicab joint just opened up 2 days ago about 5 houses down from my place. need riders. lease seems a little high for the shifts (free for the worst, 50 bucks standard, 140(!) on weekends) but the girl said those spenno shifts would likely get a bit cheaper as they got started
nice 2 seater trikes with a hydro brake in the back, blinkies, speakers/ ipod connector
live in a tourist/ port/ college/ hippy city with a big cafe strip, so lots of pedestrians, but everything is within 15 minutes walk effectively
unsure how i’ll be able to recoup fuck all, let alone make money off this, plus i have a labouring job lined up that i can make real money off
but want to give it a crack
keep my regular job, part time it in the shit evenings and just take what i can? treat it as hours on the bike? (lord knows i need more of them)
edit: it’s coming up on summer and already awesome weather. will hopefully make the prospect more inviting for potential riders
