i’m pretty sure people here paid like 80$ to see girl talk at the congress theater. which is absolutely baffling to me since i haven’t heard anyone talk about the guy since summer 2006. I rode by the show ( i ride by the congress10+ times every night for work) and it just looked like all 18 year old columbia college students, who also happen to be the majority of people i see on bikes like greggy boy is riding. that whole picture just screams 2005-2006 entry level hipster trash to me.
I know what both sets of initials stand for, fuck nuts!! (The cars are Bayerische Motoren Werke by the way) It’s just funny to me that both the car and the bike are kinda symbolic of people who, as stated above, have more money than taste. I also think that it’s probably not a coincidence that Brooklyn Machine Works chose a name with those initials.
Thaaaat’s dumb.
I liked Pharell since Superthug. Then the Ol Dirty album. Then all the hits. Then Nerd. Then all down hill.
The 2nd NERD album was an absolute pile of shit. That’s when I wrote Pharell off. Then his whole steez got destroyed by Kanye.
I paid $5 to see Girl Talk 4 years ago. He was good. I bought his CD from him after the show. Bitches love him like they lovin’ Tarck. Girl Talk makes panties drop.
I’m sure there’s some newer hipster thing… but c’mon, dude is out there riding with a beard and a rugby shirt on a Spinergy, not posing with some freshly-bought double-Spoked piece of tarck.
to be fair, he really does mix them live. we stood behind him on stage and he sat and mixed the files live. he didn’t just push play.
and his last tour was free. and i believe he was also for free when he was in austin. nobody i’ve known has payed to see him.
i’m just sayin. now we’ll wait till Oh No quotes me and talks about me sucking dick or something gay.
Night Ripper was a decent album, the rest of his shit is pretty bogus-lame and he’s a complete culture vulture for sure. It’s decent shit to jam out to if you’re in the right mood, but I would never pay for it.
