There’s a MUP like that here in Atlanta called The Silver Comet. Mile markers every .25mi
I rode about 80mi of it as the end of a nighttime 210mi solo thing and by the end I was listening to Infest the Rats’ Nest at full blast trying to not look at the mile markers.
Randonneurs (randos), use metric for distances; it'll make them feel like a longer ride: rando chat‽
Haha, that sucks. At least ours are only at every mile and often easy to miss, especially at night.
Looks like @LASER_BEIGE and @JUGE_FREDD may be riding together!
They either arrived at (or departed??) Fougères and most recently Loudéac within 2 mins of each other. Tinténiac in between was within 5 mins.
Keep eating the kms!
I saw that too, hope the camaraderie keeps them going
Can you only follow by using their numbers, I got a bit confused with the french, is there a map at all ?
if you go to the tracker website, there’s an option to show the map— enter I291 and P200
yeah, their dots are still right together.
now they’re miles apart?
The tracker only records your passing at official stops (controls or food/rest points).
Maybe Mig stopped to rest at Saint-Nicolas-du-Pélem and Fred rode ahead to Carhaix (the last control before Brest)?
This was my route overview from 2019 - I think it is mostly the same. Controls are in red, official food/rest stops are in blue.
That could explain it.
i don’t think i’ve ever stopped half that many times
on a bike ride
Mig made it thru Carhaix!
Looks like they’re back together
Two fancy lads strolling thru France together
Taken from the PBP Rules page…
Whatever the realized time, a brevet will not be homologated in less than 43h32 (this corresponds to an average speed of 28 km/h).
What’s the point of riding PBP for a FKT when it disqualifies you?
not winning is hard
I read that as the ride will be homologated officially in 43h even if completed in 41h
Reading again I can see why you’d say that, but I don’t understand the point of the rule then. In theory the control shouldn’t yet be “open” for crossing.
There is an open question on ACP Facebook about it too
Sorry bros, DNFd in Brest. My PBP is just a PB.
Excuses
No need to apologize, bikes are fun and if this were easy everyone would do it !
Sorry to hear it didn’t go as you planned, but hope you can make the best of it and find some other adventure on the way back to Paris.
