Must be on some RivBike Grantness

Haven’t you seen this yet? It’s the new Paul QR stem so you can get low and aero while on the rivets in a gravel race.

Currently leading a grand tour…

The Scott with the low-set hoods:

I generally assume that the pros don’t get to race something without some kind of fitter giving it a green light, in this case, it looks very much like the idea was to absolutely maximize reach.

I mean I 100% would not want to ride a bike like that, but 1. nobody’s paying me to and 2. I don’t have bidons full of Advil-caffeine pill slurry to swill down while I’m pedaling along.

Pro bikes pretty much get a pass because they ride so much that whatever setup they have is interpreted to work fine. Joe Jackass does not get the same allowance.

Are the shifters slightly low for better shifting in sprints?

Yeah, it looks wonky, but also kinda ideal for sprints.

But simon yates dont sprint, and climbs out of the saddle a lot.

bicycle secret
angle your hoods down for uphill stages to keep them level on average
likewise angle your hoods up for downhill stages
keep that consistent fit
