i’ve got aero, non aero and bar end brake levers to try out. i just don’t like the bar end ones b/c they don’t feel very firm when braking, more like they’re just for slowing down, not stopping.
actually, the drop bar levers i have are the campy ones that can route either aero or non aero. i may play with this tonight.
a wise man once wrote that “every time someone puts risers on a vintage road bike god doors a cyclist”
I <3 my Peugeot, even though it’s too small for me. This is how I made it work:
They named it “Triathlon” so it can’t be wrong. I just haven’t gotten around to putting on the aero bars yet, that’s all.
how much of a drop does your stem have and how much higher is comfortable
sneaky viking do you mean barend/aero levers like cane creek 200tt or old style aero levers
I’m not sure what you mean. The stem is 75 degrees, and it’s comfortable at the current height.
This is what it used to look like, and the drop was too much. I also replaced the 90mm stem with a 110mm.
this is how it is right now, which is pretty bad.

and nice vbrake noodle
Thanks? I thought it solved the problem well.
I meant bar-end shifter -style, like this:

[quote=“kjohnnytarr”]This would look dank with a shorter stem:

Shit looks like a folder. It would look better if it fit the rider better
Maybe get a bike the fits? Not helpful, eh? How about a new stem. A Technomic would get the bars up higher and you could use the b135 bars with less drop, or b177 bars if you want flat tops.

I know this has been covered 1k times, but this thing still bugs the crap out of me. The more I look at it, the more I hate it.
A wiser man once said (and still says) every time someone puts risers on a vintage frame and it gets ridden SHUT THE FUCK UP.
go home.

Seriously? It’s my favorite bike of all time. The only thing I don’t like is that the seatpost and crank should be black to match the stem.
