Souplesse Casings and Bike Soup - The Tire Thread

I’ve got no data but I could get behind the hypothesis that wet tires -> adhesion -> spikeys go round and round more times -> increased flats

also glass etc is harder to see when all the pavement is shimmering

counterpoint: fixing flats in the rain sucks; negativity bias.

i thought it was more that the friction on the tire and the spikey are lower, so it makes it easier for the spikey to go through the tire

I always heard it that the water acts like a glue that makes the pointy stuff stick up more. But this was from people who were not, how to say, geniuses?

Theory one: Water acts as a lubricant for sharp things
Theory b: Time spent fixing flats in the rain is the worst, and therefor more memorable

Do you have any data on whether Shimano groups are for beginner roadies, but serious old heads all know that Campagnolo is better?

i must say, 30mm tubs at about 70psi rear and 60-65 front are pretty badass. i weigh almost 200 lbs btw…and put a pannier on the rear rack.

I put 60PSI in my Barlow Pass coz fatass and yeah, no.

Word on the street is WTB just went live with the 700c Byway. Looks like it comes in 34, 40, 44, and 47 widthways.

Well, shit. Time to throw my brand new Hutchinsons in the trash, these are the exact tire I wanted for my coffee grinder.

In the mail to me if they’re Sectors!

They’re overides and I was being overly dramatic, they’ll end up on the poogeot basket bike.
