Tandem Frame/Bike

So, I know this shit has been discussed before, but what are the options out there for tandem road frame and bikes? I’ve let a few good used options go by, but I think I’ve finally got the funding sorted out to at least get a project decently started.

I need something with at least 58/52 seat tubes.

he has an awesome tandem… i posted it a while back… i think it was a 59/52or53 though

How much do you want to spend?

I’m thinking about $700 for a frame + fork. I know that puts me into the lower quality bikes. I might spring for more if I found a nice frame with a seat tube that actually fits me, but I haven’t seen any that large yet.

you should definitely contact that guy mike… i know he wanted like $900 for that custom built… but, he’d probably take less

was it a steel frame?

I know it far exceeds your $700 limit, but I’ve been impressed with the Cannondale tandems I’ve seen, and if you can get a hook-up, you can probably get one totally built for a decent amount.

I had the chance to pick a practically new one up locally for $900 and I let it slip by. :colbert:

I guess I’ll just scour CL 'til the stars align for me.

I’m building one!
