one of the rare cases where i would prefer a bike to be built to era spec and sat in a showroom
Taht thing wuz made for teh riserz, babby.
That stem is some hot hot shit.
innocent departure
Eh, I don’t really see that much at fault with it. Yeah yeah Cherubim and Yoshi Konno, but fuck, it’s already beat and there’s more out there. Let it get ridden.
Whatchu know about beat to hell 3Rensho courier bikes…
They’re beautiful.
Looks pretty good to me. Would you rather it not be rode at all?
“Fork is drilled for a brake. Rear stay has been drilled and braced for a brake, but note that only a front brake is installed.”
i don’t have a problem with that bike.
My main beef is that it probably had a nice paint job that has been sloppily painted over in white.
I just thought I should add: I’d ride the hell out of that bike.
who cares, its obviously a training bike thats meant to be ridden on the street. Hence the front and rear brake holes and the water bottle mount.
yes
I’d rather it not have riserzzzzzzzzzzzzz

except it wasnt originally a training bike. I dont know how I feel honestly. I dont see any need for the rear to be drilled, that’s just kinda fucked up. The fork…whatever.
but the god damn threaded to threadless adapter. shoot that man. My friend has one on a modern debernardi and I still hate it. On a classic bike it’s just heresy.
I don’t see how this bike is any less offensive than most of what you guys ride.

thats not a threadless adapter, its a nitto reversible stem.
How do you know the history of the bike? I’ve seen dedicated road training bikes built by keirin builders that have front/rear brakes and water bottle brazeons, just like this bike does. nowhere in the ad does it say " I drilled this frame out and added water bottle brazeons, then painted it this rad white color." Plus it looks like it has clearances for fatter tires.
Like pirate says, the stem is an old Nitto Tengaeshi (upside down/reversible).
It was made that way so keirin racers were able to flip the stem and ride their bikes to the track from their dorm bum bar style. Japanese track/road trainers are usually made for front and rear brakes. I have yet to see a purpose built trainer that only had a front brake. $2000 is insane for an old road trainer. But again the person listing it is very good at hyping it up with the wording. I don’ t know about other countries, but out here a used road trainer frame is cheaper than a used track frame.
I don’t see anything wrong with the bike except the price and Shimano BB to Sugino crank combo.
