This happens to me almost anytime I am on a bicycle. Scary as fuck. Also the speed limit is 45mph on most roads around here and cars regularly do 60+, rarely slowing to pass you. It is a normal occurrence for a car to speed passed within inches of my life, rather than slow down and wait for any on-coming traffic to clear. Whatever. There are miles of beautiful, nearly abandoned back roads to make up for it.
wow looking at your pics i’m realizing the rumble strip is a complete bitch. that’s illegal in our state to have that little shoulder. Happens a lot and cal trans doesn’t do shit about it because they don’t get called out enough.
fun stuff! My friend and I do a similar ride every sunday to the beach. I should photojournalize it sometime.
