Oops double
How 'bout some 700x36 Clement jawns?
If they’ll fit on the Poprad, I’d love to be your test mule.
They’ll fit just fine as long as they’re not oversized!

They’re a true 36mm. Does the Pop’ have room?
Yep. Should be golden.
Was running Ocean Air 38s on narrow rims
Now compass 35s on Wtb Chris cross so 36 should be ideal.
oh wait, is that Theo’s blog?
That bus blowout looked really familiar. Went into my photo pool and realized I took it during a randonneuring event and Theo randomly asked me to send it to him.
sssshh maybe?
he may not work in the generic bike tire mines anymore
but I think he’s still a little secretive about posting customer pics

I’ve seen that particular failure on more than a few department store mountain bikes.
How does that happen?
Looks like the casing failed and the rubber was hard enough to still hold the tube. Happened to me a few years ago with a spesh tire.
Any ideas on how to patch this so the patch I put on the inside doesn’t bulge? I feel like I need to integrate a layer of Tyvek somehow to keep it together.
Or, like, anyone got a used Switchback Hill EL they want to sell me on the cheap? I’m trying to make these last until the Specialized 650b tires come out.
First of all, tubed or tubeless?
Second, you’re going to get a lot of opinions on that one, but my uneducated guess would be to clean up the inside and use a radial car tire patch and regular vulcanizing cement. I say uneducated because I’ve never tried that on a nerd tire, but I’ve had lots of success using that method of MTB tires, which are nearly as wide and typically use similar pressures.
I stitch my Compass sidewall cuts with dental floss, making a few Xs over the cut, and put a tube patch on the inside. The XL radial car tire patches are probably the best option, but my little Sunlite patches are doing the job.
edit: I’m using vulcanizing rubber cement from the auto shop.
Tubeless. If there was a tube in there then I don’t think it would be an issue. I have a regular Rema Tip Top patch on there. I bet a car tire patch will work!
Got to the beach yesterday and looked down at my bike to see this:
Radial tire patches are boughten. I also ordered a new tire from Compass but no way it’ll get here in time for d2r2. Sigh.
That bump is making me STORN
Anxiously awaiting your radial tire patch success story. I gotta patch a SBH sidewall soon too.
Seems like it worked so far.
I suspect it might bulge after some period of time. I’m giving it some time to settle and then gonna put Stan’s back in. Theo said a new tire will get to me in time so luckily I don’t have to ride it for d2r2.
I’m getting really good at getting my tire beads back on without air.

What size? I have a 38, a 32 and I think a 30
Edit: oh you’ll have a tire? PM me and I can bring of all fails. Or, Harris stocks them.
