what are my 1" headset options?

need a normal 1" threaded headset for my serotta.
would put a chris king on there but i don’t want to spend that much.
would like sealed bearings, nothing else particular.

just buy TANGE Levin, you be aight

i was thinking this was a good deal- http://www.probikekit.com/display.php?code=L1050

That is a good deal, but out of stock.

I’ll second the Levin idea.

dean at bike central told me if i’m not going to go chris king, just go with aheadset and it’ll last you until you can get a chris king. according to him, nothing in between is that much better than aheadset as to be worth the money except a chris king. or, you know, classic campy shit, etc.

but his opinions are much debated because while he knows his shit really well, he’s also extremely biased against, oh… almost everything.

cane creek S-2

Tange.

cane creek S2 and FSA orbit.

Threaded or not?

Threaded: VO Grand Cru:

Threadless? Cane Creek S-2.
There are really no better options.

Had Tange techno-glide. It sucked. The bearings asploded.

wow, velo orange ftw

I like the old 105 and 600 hundred ones. They have “sealed mechanisms”.

threaded, retards

fuck threaded.

Cane Creak S2

don’t buy the Ritchey one from Nashbar. It seems like a real piece of shit.

If you go with the VO Grand Cru please post a review. I suspect it is good (most of their stuff is), but it would be great to hear a first hand report.

Unrelated but I just got one of their stems and it’s friggin’ gorgeous and made very well.

hm, maybe i should go threadless since i’m starting from scratch.
for this:

threadless and carbon? maybe.

threadless and carbon or threaded and chrome.

Yeah. :bear:
