That’s a nice lookin biek, any info on the brand even if they went belly up on the www?
Ya, pinkbike did a review some years ago: [https://www.pinkbike.com/news/xprezo-adhoc-review-2014.html](https://www.pinkbike.com/news/xprezo-adhoc-review-2014.html) (warning, some shitty misogyny in the review)

summary is a 150mm rear travel, aluminum front and steel rear triangle made in Quebec. Numbers were pretty modern, with a 66.6 head angle and a 76 seat angle, and ~450mm reach on the medium. It has a progressive-linear-progressive curve, so it should feel great in the small bump as it’s linear rate where it sags, and the progression to the sag should allow a little lower air pressures compared to a linear-to-progressive curve alone.

The last time I had it built up I never really put the effort into adjusting the suspension, so I’m going to give it a more earnest try (also have a shorter stroke shock and a 140 fork to see how it does as a 130 trail bike, and a coil for park use). Even managing to fit a bottle in the frame with a piggyback shock is pretty neat.

Summer maintenance / prep for the commuter, Jeffsy, and Snowaguchi.

Threw the 'cross tires on Snowaguchi, and went for a ride.
Trying to figure out what is rubbing on the Spacehorse. Rode it with front brake disconnected, rubbing noise. Rode it with rear brakes disconnected, rubbing noise. Checked front and rear fenders for points where they would rub the tyres, not even close. Took both wheels out, spun them and they seem fine. They’re both slightly out of true, nothing major. The hubs might need to be pulled apart and serviced, but they’re sealed Shimano 105 hubs?

All I know is it makes a rubbing noise on a wheel roatation in the same spot. It doesn’t matter whether I’m pedalling or coasting. I think it is the rear wheel. It only does it when I’m in riding, not in the stand. It seemed to disappear/ quieten down when I rode in the wet the other day.
> If you coast but really lean the bike out to one side does it get better or worse? Check frame for cracks. Check rim spoke holes, and where spokes cross each other.

So I checked the fender, no where near rubbing the tyre. Adjusted it slightly. Took the rear wheel out, span it and it was making a slight noise. Took the tyre and tube off, checked the whole wheel, nothing. Tyre and tube back on. The spokes seem to be a touch too loose, and make a bit of noise rubbing against each other. I put a drop of lube on each spoke where they cross on both wheels and flexed the spokes so the lube has a chance to flow.

I think that was the issue. No noise this morning. When I have some spare time I’ll go get my wheels trued and tightened.

Pink taped the Kirk and rode it to work. Having ridden nothing but mtn bikes and upright commuters for at least the last 6 months, it was super weird and the bars felt super narrow, which they probably are, so shopping for new wider bars now. But, it was also fast and that felt nice.

I’m 6’0", 92cm PBH, bike is 61cm ST, 57cm TT

Bars are pretty level, picture might be messing with it, also might look a little tilty up because I had to run the shift cables behind the bar (bend is really tight on Ergosum bars).

Swapped the Egrosum for Ritchey Neoclassic bars on the Kirk, reused the pink tape. Will try those for a while, then probably the Rotundo and Cowbell that are sitting in the bin before I do any shopping.

Put new wheels on, the Shimano RS tubeless jaws. Used the new Finish Line goo. Nothing to report, the tires are still pretty new. I like this tubeless thing so far.

Thanks! It needs more riding time though, and me more motivation for roadie stuff.

Used the Fatty Stripper kit to mount Nates on my Rolling Darryl rims tubeless. Once I figured out how to use the foam backing rods, it was shockingly easy! (with a compressor). I forgot to check on them this morning but it seems like they are holding air pretty well. 8 psi is kind of high for those tires but the bike rides nicer than I would have expected, rode it over some curbs and was fairly happy. Now I just need to make plans to go to the beach to take advantage of it.

I’m going to do that this week on some 50mm wide rims with cutouts and those 3.8" Larry tires. Kind of wondering if I should’ve gotten the foam rods too…

Swapped the kinetic chair-pole from the wifes 26er SC Superlight to my SC Tallboy. Hopefully I don’t disgrace myself so much on the descents in tonight’s LBS ride. Replaced rear pads on Tallboy with some organic ones, as I couldn’t get metal ones. A friend told me he “cycled” his organic pads to improve their longevity. Something he learnt form go-kart racing. I had never heard of this before. Is this a thing ?
