Rode some nice mtb trails Boar blasted my favorite music on the drive back. Did a lot of good for my head.

Swapped Ritchey carbon post from Breezer Finesse to Endpoint Coffee Grinder. Finesse got Grinder’s alloy ProPLT post. Breezer Doppler camping bike got the Redshift squish post from Faxmachine.
If you want to do that without blowing the fit on all three, it takes most of an afternoon!

Finally gonna get back on the horse that threw me. Installed some PDW quick releases on the front fender, massaged it back to mostly round, and did a 3rd close inspection of the front end, and I still don’t see any problems. Guess my arm took all the impact.
Also threw a magnet from an old bike computer on the flap of my bag, not sure it replaces the bungee cord entirely but it might.

I found this stem in storage earlier this summer that my friend gave me years ago. He got killed by a car earlier this summer and it felt like I should take it out of storage for whatever reason.
Threw it on the commuter bike with a threadless adapter to replace the shitty profile 1 1/8" boner quill I had on there.
Spacers are cosmetic and are what I had in the parts bin. I probably actually need another 10-15 mm higher if I am going to keep the position about the same, but ran out of spacers. I guess I’ll see if I like that.
Now my bike is probably 2 lbs heavier but eh

I put a stupid upside down stem on my Bullitt. Also some bars that are a lot like the noirette bars (which seem to be unavailable) but a little narrower with a little more rise.

Installed some Japanesque Ideal Design Combination (aka Dixna La) nerd cranks on the endpoint. Frustratingly, they didn’t ship with the right spacers for me to install my 30t nerd ring, but I was able to get my old 46/34 rings on there.
It all bolted on no problem and then I didn’t even have to adjust the pusher. For some reason it even shifts better.
The low Q felt good to spin right away, but even just cruising around the neighborhood I could feel that my thighs are going to be rubbing the top tube a bit more like this. Clipping in, though, it felt like my feet were exactly where I wanted them.

FWIW, mine are fine without any spacers on the 74bcd, though mostly have been shifting friction so maybe there are issues I’m not picking up.

Hmm. It seemed like it would be too close to the outer ring, but maybe I am just imagining that. I’ll leave it like it is for now, since I probably just can’t be fucked to take it back apart for now.

- Finished installing the shift housing
- Installed cables and adjusted shifting
GRX812 dangler plays real nice with a 42t. B limit screw only maybe 3/4 of the way in.

Moved tools/spares out of my hydration pack and onto the frame. Will eventually replace the lower cage/pack with a roll-top bag that straps directly to the downtube.

Rode the tracklocross on some more real mtb trails. Besides the pucker moments of rimmers it was real fun. My low cadence climbing power is surprisingly good.

I don’t have a hose so I have to wash my bikes at the fish washing station on the docs across from my appartment and get yelled at by fishermen. Also how my dog gets bathed.

FSA Metropolis bars back on the trucker, swapped out the saddle too, and took a light night ride last night to try to shake off some of the dirt from Marin.
