Today I became the customer I hate and asked if I could show the mechanic how to install a crown race, after he started it crooked and removed it twice. At least now they know the bench vise also has an anvil.
the best customer kludge i ever saw was someone replaced a broken cog on their freewheel with like 6 pennies. it shifted over the pennies flawlessly.
we asked him if he wanted a job and i don’t think he knew we were at least half serious.
