20" SS (or SS conversion friendly) folding bike

I’m humoring the idea of building up a folding bike for maybe taking the train to school next semester or serving as a beater/loaner/don’tstealmy bike.

I got some questions:
What are some good frames that are usually available?
Knowing folding bikes usually come complete, are there any relatively cheap SS folders?
Are there any Raleigh Twenty or similarly quaint folders on your local craigslist?
Is the spacing on folding bikes going to be cooperative if I decide to build a flip/flop wheel?

That said, post some sweet-ass folding bikes.

Ralegh Twenty.
Here’s Sheldons:

Bike Friday is cool but pricy.

Could be SS with a tensioner.
Why you want SS anyway?

i’ve been looking at this a lot myself.
i really like the xootr swift folder, but it’s not cheap. comes as a frameset though.

i think the best thing to do would be get any folding bike you end up liking and can afford, and put an eccentric ENO wheel on the back if it doesn’t have horizontal dropouts

the montague boston has 700c wheels, but i think it looks pretty decent. also not super cheap.

and it barspinz

My friend built up this tarck ass folder w/ some 20" Bmx wheels.

I never said I was looking for 700c

a guy on serottaforums has a 650c slingshot folder that he was looking to sell. i think it was a ~54cm.

i had one of those really old boardwalk/getaway/ whatever folders. was not really a fun ride. i dont think i could stay on it for more than a mile or two. i’m hoping that i’ll be happier with a larger wheelsize.

lulz. actually looks kinda fun
