Eh, I don’t think it has to do with being vegan specifically, but eating lots of bean products and certain veggies.
Long before I went vegan, I started drinking soy milk instead of regular milk and it gave me terrible farts for like 6-9 mos. It went away though and now I can eat soy without any fat issues. Think my gut just adjusted.
I’ve occasionally tried some weird fake meat products and some of those just seem too unnatural and will give anyone toxic farts.

I too had this issue but I think my gut flora has adapted similar to your experience with soy milk. I eat lentil slices on my sandwiches everyday and rarely have stank farts.
Daiya doesn’t give me farts.
Lightlife meatless grounds fucked me up real good one time though, didn’t even use the rest.

Today, on my normal route home that I take every day, some dogmom was basically blocking the path with her little dogs in their stroller. Not a big deal, so I waited for her to collect the puppies and make some room. I then re-mounted the bike and as I was riding away I heard her say, under her breath: “really, bikes on the walking path. unbelievable.”
Normally I would have 180d and given her a load of shit about it, but I was in a hurry so I just ignored it and decided to complain on the internet instead.
This was on an MUP.
I’d file that under “there’s no cure for the common fool” and let it go.

I wonder how many times I’ve had someone try to shout or honk in encouragement; when I’m on my bike, anything coming from a car driver sounds aggressive and nasty by default.

If you feel that what you’re doing is worth encouragement, might as well just take it as that. At least until they start threatening you.
I fairly often have people yell “yo gimme that bike” as I ride by, but in my head they’re really just saying “yo cool bike!”

I get “let me see that bike”, but it’s not from people driving, it’s from people hanging out on the sidewalk / in the street. Totally different.

I can usually tell, if the’yre mad it’s usually a long honk, if they’re happy it’s a short festive honk.
In some places short honk means “I don’t have the driving skills to pass you so I want you to accomodate my incompetence”
