I’ve been watching a lot of Australian and British shows and I absolutely need subtitles on to understand what they’re saying. And even then I need a phone close to look up unfamiliar terms.
Same atmo. I just take a little break after I finish reading each caption.
Yeah I think it’s rude to listen to this stuff with the sound on, especially the app clip stuff where there’s an abrupt cut in the audio every time the video loops or the person scrolls.

Hochul stalled congestion pricing for a year cause the guy who drives in from NJ to the restaurant he owns across the street from grand central station complained to her while she was eating her lunch

A couple weeks ago I went to Houston with da family to spend the weekend with my in-laws. My wife wanted to leave early on Friday, like around 2:30, but then she forgot she needed something from her storage unit so we didn’t pick up our daughter and really hit the road until like 3-3:15.
The traffic in the exurbs around Austin was atrocious lol. We’d be out in the middle of nowhere on a highway that they just finished widening and improving and it was still grinding gridlock. I never have to deal with any of that shit and I’m always asking my driver wife if it’s like this every day and it seems like that’s pretty much the case!

There’s a strike on one of the rail networks going into NYC this week. The estimate is that 20 to 30 lanes would have to get added to the highway serving that area to make up for not having commuter rail there. Good luck!

I was just reading about how they’re running busses from towns in LI to the ends of lines like the F train. Imagine having masses of angry Long Islanders show up at your otherwise sleepy end-of-the-line subway stop!
