A safe space to complain about jackass humans

Both I’d say.

Holy fuck, I forget about this thread for a bit and that piece of work is waiting for me when I come back - eeeeeeeesh.

Dude reminds me of a guy who came out on a point83 ride one time, first time and last time I saw him, and he rode next to me for a bit and then asked me “hey, did you know you’ve got a Chris King hub? They’re really good hubs…” and proceeded to explain engagement to me. I loudly played dumb, and while some regulars nearby got a good laugh…dude never caught on, despite the dripping sarcasm. We dropped him up a small hill and I didn’t see him the rest of the night.

Rusty are you smaller in real life than you appear in pictures? Because you look to me like someone I wouldn’t fuck with even if I had a scar running from my mouth to my ear.

Jra today and someone came fast out of a parking spot going the same direction as me. I hit their front fender. My bike clothes are wrecked and some leg tendons are fucked from making an odd shape when i hit the earth. Im going to quit riding for a bit and see how it goes. :confounded::confounded::confounded::confounded::confounded: Let’s see how insurance and all that goes.

Ugh. Sorry man. Heal well.

Hugs dude.

sorry to hear that :frowning:
please go to the doctor if you haven’t already; fall sounds bad.

Wow this is such a fucked up story. Makes me hate gun people even more. What the fuck is wrong with their brains?

Jesus. Just starting the article and the fact that she asked him to leave the house. That hurts.

So much this.

What’s incredibly frustrating about it is that the sport shooters could pretty fucking easily find a spot in the area against a hillside. If they put a tenth of the effort into maintaining a spot as they do fighting being regulated then it would solve itself. Literally the laziest option is the safe one, to find a single spot and just always shoot there.

Could not be more analogous to current political division.

It fills me with blind impotent rage at the bullheaded laziness and intentional ignorance of so fucking many people.

I’m at work and don’t have time to read it, but I was very interested in this case. Can someone write up a brief summary?

A mountain biker was shot to death on a ride (probably murdered; he was found in a shallow grave) and it turns out that the MTB trails around there are close to places where a lot of bozos spree-shoot without regard to human safety.

Guns are bad.

If you want to get a perfect pelt you can just use improved arrows.

Or Selsun Blue!

I prefer poison arrows, you can recover them and it’s less likely to destroy a more sensitive pelt if you accidentally use it on a smaller animal.

Fuck everyone who shoots guns in a forest on public land (unless there’s a designated shooting range).

And mostly even then.

so fuck me, right?

edit, to come off less jackass:

To @Straws point, “Literally the laziest option is the safe one, to find a single spot and just always shoot there.” There are plenty of safe places in national forests where shooting is not only allowed, but has been going on for decades. I’m one of the people who utilize these spots. Is it a designated range? No. Is it a perfectly safe spot to go shoot? Yes.

All it takes is some common sense and self control, which sadly a large portion of the gun owners in this country are severely lacking. I get that tarck is mostly anti-gun, and that’s fine, but I’m not going to apologize for those of us who do responsibly shoot in public places. It’s multi-use for a reason.

@Orc Same thing happened here in CO this year, huge wildfire started by irresponsible assholes shooting during a fire ban. Again, lack of common sense and self control.

Stop demonizing all gun owners and start demonizing the vocal NRA-types.
