Oh, I didn’t know there was an edit.

Evidently you only needed to wait a bit longer.

Was really bummed the UCI channel only had 3 minute highlights. Will have to check this out tomorrow.

Yeah their 5 hour video apparently took a long time to upload. Said it had been up for 23 hours yesterday afternoon (which I guess means they hit “upload” on it soon after the race wrapped). But it only had like 1000 views and I hadn’t seen it in the morning.

more likely they uploaded it prior and didn’t publish until now

we used a vpn and set location for japan to watch on the uci youtube channel, watched the men’s race sat night and the women’s last night.

but the women’s race was oddly hard to find. we had to search for it as we didnt see it in the video list.

that’s… what I said

I mean, no, you didn’t say that. You said it took a long time for the upload. They are saying they just had a time delay for when it went public.

o i c. Yeah that didn’t register with me as a possibility.

I think my theory is right however https://www.reddit.com/r/youtubers/comments/11u7if7/do_unlisted_videos_show_with_a_new_upload_date/

Have heard many youtubers mention long upload times, and have experienced the processing time for video upload myself at work. A 5 hour video is going to take for fucking ever to get processed by YT and that probably accounts for the delay.

Yeah, that’s fair. And I guess they really wouldn’t care after the fact since they got the views from subscribers they needed in the moment. Friend just shared his login since he did the 1-month sub to watch the dh.

maybe I will watch xc if I am awake for it this weekend.

I came so close to paying them for a month. But $30 to watch one race is ridiculous. I just don’t care enough. The Juniors coverage was up faster, but it was also a shorter vid. This one took so long that I thought they were not going to share it on YT.

Are hardtails pretty much dead for racing? I did my first MTB event in a few years, last weekend, and scoping the bikes before and after I’d say 80%+ were full-suspension. My last real MTB season was 2021 and it seemed like back then it was consistently 50/50 hardtail/FS.

FS got better, cheaper? Otherwise more accessible?

I think suspension designs have gotten much more efficient for pedaling, plus people have realized they actually can climb better even with the minimal efficiency loss due to the better traction.

on top of that, xc courses have skewed more difficult over the last few years, making racers start to move over to FS and using dropper posts.

At the world cup level, there are a couple of courses that some of the women choose hardtails for, but I hardly see any men through the season opting for hardtail over FS. I think that number is dwindling in the womens’ fields too. Better suspension design, more technical courses, etc etc

This year’s flyer for the frienduro in the Tillamook forest is rad

I’m going to volunteer and maybe shoot some photos. I missed it last year, because of family stuff.

Hmm. Doubt sup will want to travel back to back weekends since she is doing Dirty Downhill women’s race in port angeles week before.

Oh, wait, Saturday race. ugh. And, oof, $70 for it. Damn. I know it is a fundraiser, though. And that flyer is hella cool.

Is anyone going to the US OPEN OF MOUNTAIN BIKING?!

I think ODF got on them or something. Last year it was just a waiver and $25, but this year it’s sanctioned through OBRA. The extra cost is to cover the insurance, most likely.

Okay, I thought it was cheaper last year, too. Kinda funny doing their own thing outside of USAC and then kinda getting into the same business as them in fees and insurance.

Last day at the park. Wah. Great weather yesterday but today had a little rain in the afternoon for some slower final laps.

I kinda wanted to cross off a couple gaps i haven’t hit yet but the timing wasn’t right.

I did get 3 laps in on one of the trails that always was my nemesis in the past. It has a few elevated wooden features and it always fucks me to to be even slightly off the ground in both sides.

I love this trail now but i wish they didn’t like run out of features halfway through. It feels a bit dull after the step down jump.

those who like to tinker, plz help me with my ebike fork situation

so it has a 150mm fox performance fork (grip damper)
out of the box, setting it for sag, it bottoms out all the time
i figured its an ebike, its heavy, i’ll add air.

once i got enough air to not bottom out on drops, the bike was uncomfortable. not soft enough. rough on my arms/hands. did not like.

so i added 2 spacers/tokens to bump it up to 4. i reduced some air back to where it’s more comfortable.
now i’m still bottoming it out.

i can turn up the compression a little with the knob i guess. but am i just never going to like this fork? I have fox forks on my other 2 mtbs and they seem fine. i’m not ususally too finicky. but i just do not like this fork so far. maybe i am doing too much with the bike, idk. i feel like a 140/150 bike should still be capable enough to hit jumps and do 3-4 ft drops.

i added a big spacer to the rear too and i havent felt it hit the bump stop but am also still using 100% of the travel. the fork i very noticeably hit the bump stop last ride.

i have never bottomed out any of my forks on my other bikes. pretty much never happens to me, which is why i dont know what to do next. more volume spacers? the max is 7 so i could still squeeze a few more in.
