Needed a mechanic to take off his stem? Must have had his “assistant” ebay it. Srsly tho, how do you sell something without seeing that? His story doesn’t even make sense. Probably has a “housekeeper” to wipe his ass too.

Agreed. I’ve had some pretty gnarly failures JRA but I never assumed the damage was from JRA. Not at that level of catastrophic failure.

Happened a couple weeks ago:

It kept developing play when I was swapping saddles back and forth testing them, and then one day it just wouldn’t get tight and I looked at it carefully.

The bolt had started bedding into the carbon, and it got to the point that the washer ovalized, cracked, and became an auger:

Traditional single-bolt seatposts just shouldn’t be full-carbon.

The seatpost binder bolt on my ALAN turned out to be aluminum too:

I think what I’ll end up doing is extracting the remainder of the bolt from the nut, and making a custom aluminum washer so I can use a normal stainless bolt.
