Man, that is one ugly crankset jeeze. It’s not like it’s hard to find an inoffensive triple crank that would look more at home on a Riv. That choice is mind boggling! WOOF!

…but really I’m just jealous of their sweet Atlantis

Oh yeah, same dude and his twin brother rode from Alaska to Patagonia in Bridgestone with mustache bars that he still owns.

Awesome

It is an ugly crank. Sharing my most hated and loved shimano danglers. That top one just triggers me somehow. I love the bottom one for its monstrous bush and general smooth lines

I never managed to build up much passion for derailleur aesthetics. I can relate a little bit though, as the RX100 FD is one that’s ever really grabbed me. All polished up it has an unusual look that pairs exceptionally well with round tubes.

Youtube screengrab of a dirty one

The Shimano long-arm FD always piss me off. They never worked well, were very unsatisfying to use and never matched anything else. Glad toggle-link came along.

Probably that fork

What’s up with the down tube?

I didn’t get the full story but sounds like it broke and was repaired

Always had to turn the low limit way in and back it off once the cable was tightened to get proper cable tension.

I present to you an old Time VXRS with probably original Campy carbon 10/11 speed group leaning on the glass of the Arcteryx store. Absolutely would buy this bike today if I saw a deal.
