Heard back. He’s alive.
Alive. Not dead. Sent PM’s.
Sorry guys.
Patxis coma
I wish. Haven’t worked in Lafayette since April…
Lost some weight because of it.
word, just wanted to make sure homeboy didn’t get run over or something
i’m gonna go on a 65/70 mile mixed road/gravel ride sat morning if anyone wants to join, starting near Guinda, Ca. Should be about 30-40% gravel with the option for more post loop.
90 mile drive for me to get out there, which is a lot.
Maybe.

word, figured it might be a bit far for the bay peeps
davis crew tho…
Gonna head down to the bay area next month. Tentatively picking the dates Feb 20-24th since the bears are moving and they should be settled in enough for some hang outs by then.
Going to bring my bike because I can only guess that by late feb i will be done with rainy winter, but with my luck I will show up there and it will rain the whole time. We will see. I plan on flying so I won’t have a car, just a bike. Don’t know where i’m staying. Haven’t asked anyone yet.
Which airport should I fly into anyway? Oakland?
It depends on where you’ll be staying. If you choose to fly into San Francisco International, there’s the train station (BART) that’ll take you anywhere within the Bay Area, so whomever is picking you up from the airport can either a). meet you at any station or b). meet you at the airport. Downside is that they’ll have to contend with traffic which can be a PITD. If you choose to fly into Oakland International, well… there are I think are also buses that take you to a Bart station, it’s just not at the doorstep like SFO is all. Either one is fine, really.
If you fly into Oakland, chance are good you can get a ride. Probably easier to get from OAK to the bears’ place than SFO.
Yeah. I don’t know if there’s any reason to fly into SFO. I also plan on hanging out with a friend who lives in SJ for a day or two, so I could fly into there too since he could easily pick me up. I don’t think i’d do both two and from SJ though cuz then i’d have to get back and forth from there twice with a bike which would be a PITA, but two or from would work easy as far as getting to an airport.
Only reason to fly into SFO would be getting a flight w/ Virgin America which is probably the best flight experience going at the moment. Otherwise OAK was usually just as quick or quicker to points in the city in my experience.
Wait there’s a flight experience other than terrible? I’m tall and cheap, everything is terrible always.
LMK if you’re planning any rides. I’m down near San Jose, but I’ll drive up to Oakland/SF/wherever for a tarckup ride.
both Virgin and Alaska are pretty great for at least SEA/PDX and SEA/SFO
have even gotten a free beer/cocktail unprompted a bunch of times, but that may have been coz agent booked some kind of business class that’s otherwise indistinguishable from economy
Yes. I’m not tall but I am cheap but I’ll still spend the extra $30-$50 to fly virgin from SFO to LAX. I’ve even driven from richmond to DC to take virgin to LAX.
I think i’m gonna fly into oakland and leave from san jose. gonna confer with my friend and see if he can take me to the san jose airport monday before i book a plane ticket though.
but tentatively thinking fly into oakland as early as i can on cheap tickets thursday (20th), hang out thur-sat, then head down to san jose and kick it with my friend daryl before i leave monday the 24th.
edit:
definitely gonna do that. only options going down is either a 6:35 am which i don’t care to deal with or 3pm, arrives at 5pm in oakland. think i’m gonna go with that.
just realized alaska raised their checked baggage fee, now a bike is $75 instead of $50. still considering UPS-ing my bike down to save money. would only be $30 each way…
OK guys, Amy is arriving on February 20 around 5pm in Oakland. Want to get dinner that night? Nate and I were also talking about having something at our house on Saturday, but I know that is a hike for many of you.
The only places I can think of that are good vegan places are the pizza place by Mikey’s house or Souly Vegan, but I’ve been out of the Bay Area for a while, so I’m sure there are places I’m not thinking of. I will contact uncle Ian and mikey and see if they are available too! Are there other former tarckers I should remember to invite? Is RJ in the Bay Area now?
Me?
Wait, I’m not a former.
I could maybe host. Actually. Probably not, coz Soberuary.
IDK about socializing and stuff, but I’m down to ride bicycles.
