I drove the california part of that route in november and saw many cyclists. I was very very jealous.

Care to mail it to me?
i’ve been told this depends on time of year, south in spring and north in fall or somesuch.

Depending on the time of year you go, you have better luck reducing the likelihood of insanely strong headwinds (like the kind we get after a big winter storm blows through).
That said, about 90%+ of our weather comes downcoast, bringing prevailing NW winds with it. It’s not too bad in SoCal but once you get north of Point Conception, it’s like 15-20mph onshore out of the NW pretty much every day, after maybe 9-10am in the morning. Meaning pretty gnarly head / head-sidewinds pretty much all day long if you are going north. FUN!

Not my copy, a buddy of mine loaned it to me. it has kind of neat descriptions of attractions and places to camp, but the elevation profiles seemed a bit off and such.
I went in june and we met a bunch of people and ended up banding together, we had bonfires every night and raised hell in campgrounds all the way down. cant wait till next summer.
Fucking bohemians.
join up man, you’ll never go back to the real world completely.
next summer doing portland or seattle to yosemite, then trying to decide if I want to keep going or just stay there. Pretty tempted to just hang out for a couple weeks then keep going.
