Also, link needs to be added to Tarck database! Great info there
I liked that without getting the joke until now lol
it me
New Vaya color and build looks rad, and the price is finally competitive with comparable bikes.
A Vaya is what you get when you don’t know what to get ATMO.
They Vaya is the new Crosscheck - but it should be the Surly Midnight Special or the Kona Rove ST.
(cue outraged Vaya owners)
Damn, that purple looks great. Seems like a well spec’d bike, now I’m trying to recall why I passed on buying one a while back.
Is there anything that is retail, steel, and non turdly buttways? Like the all city that had zona. Zona isn’t even top shelf tubes but still. Better.
Friendpoint CG?
Like hella retail tho
$1500 freedom dollars for zona and crabon fork sounds like good retail value?

Can’t tell if this is kinda nice and forward thinking or just oh shit we ordered too many forks. Either way, there will be loads of TAF forks floating around eBay soon enough.
“No, really- put it in a closet for 10 years and you’ll totally appreciate that we forced you to buy it later.”
Not to mention that the rigid fork is the jam for bike packing and snow riding duties.
Without any warts whatsoever it is a shit bikepacking fork
If you buy an All-City MTB frame you deserve whatever shit you get
but there’s not that many steel forks out there with modern spacing, especially not without being covered in warts, so totally fine with this:

wasn’t it zona but with thirdly buttways anyway?
zona is a tubeset not an alloy, so it can’t have THAT turdly of buttways. But they could have opted for the thicker walled options. It was a cross frame after all. The spec page says it was a half pound lighter than the standard production version.
Also it was the nature boy, not mr. pink. My mistake.

Ritchey frames?
Not sure where the line is but there’s a point where a non-turdly steel frame won’t pass EN testing.
Doesn’t make light steel frames unsafe, just points out the fact that some of those tests are a bit arbitrary.
