Each coin will be a bespoke minting of artisan paper with a handwritten hash to denote its authenticity.

the rim/tire ratio is pretty similar to the good old days

and the brakes were really well dialed, though of course it’s dry as a bone there

Like the good ol days, there will also be a inner tube in there at 40psi keeping everything tight as it bounces down the trail.

Wow looks like the new All City Macho King dropped some serious weight, their site (q/a section) says it’s down to ~1750g for a 55cm, which isn’t bad for a steel t/a frame, although it lacks the mounts/brazeons that make other frames heavier.

Are there other similar frames that come close? Looks like a bunch of these steel/wide tire/t-a frames are easily 2000g+

The Fairlight Strael 2 is sub 2000 but only fits 700*32.

Iirc Fairlight Secan is a few hundred heavier but fits the big tires

lighter, faster, and stiffer

Is stiffer what everyone really wants? I loved everything about my Paddywagon except how fucking stiff it was. I’m no lightweight, and I was carrying extra stuff commuting, and the bike was still painfully stiff, like a cannondale before they discovered FEA.

depend on how you define “everyone”

this bike is marketing as a PODIUM-WINNING CYCLOCROSS CRUSHER and indeed that market segment still wants lighter, faster, stiffer especially when the competition is on aluminum and carbon podium-mobiles

Yeah, I figured something like that, but damn, why not just ride a carbon bike?

it’s the same reason you need a whole other set of clothes. Cut slimmer than mtb stuff, but not form fitting like road stuff. Worst of both worlds!
